Sheng Khaen Sho V1.0.0 KONTAKT
Even though these reverbed instruments sound great, they are anything but. Its simple high pass/low pass filter combined with a damped synaptiq controlled amplifier ensures that the filtered sound is super fine and the timing of the return to zero superbly accurate. Great for sound design and mastering as well. Easy to use – the intuitive user interface of the sequencer will even surprise experienced users.
The sound of free reed instruments is a fascinating and ever changing source of inspiration. Exploring different timbres is an intuitive process in which flexibility, control and sound design are equally important. With its sequencer, Sheng Khaen Sho is an invaluable tool in the sound designer’s toolbox, providing a solid foundation for creating complex soundscapes. A real gem for all producers, free reed instrument ensembles and composers. This is how it sounded.
For the recording artist the possibilities are even greater. The Kontakt Player version features a modeling DSP built in, allowing for a bigger palette of techniques to be applied. The Kontakt Player instrument can be used on its own, or as a tweakable part of a larger mix.
The antennae at the throat resonates to filter control. A centralized LFO allows for both the Crescendo/Decrescendo behavior and combined with a pitch modulation over a set value, this can be used to create a note’s amplitude based on breath tempos.
There is a choice of three different end-of-play damping models provided by the Soundtoys Engine. The default is the flexible and physical material-based decay, and the alternative is a more simplistic but still faithful processor of the old Altar-Software set.
