Lightroom 5 has replaced all other Bitmap Libraries (BMP|DIB, & Gif) with smaller JPEG; hence many images are smaller. This also looks like it will limit some users, esp. if they have large collections of pictures.

I’m having serious performance issues using the new ACR 5.5 since I upgraded to OS X 10.8.3. I don’t know if it’s a problem with the newer version of OSX or the new(er) Adobe software. A call to Adobe about it has, so far, proven useless.

It seems as though Photoshop’s performance is almost the same as it was in CS6, which is really something to be proud of. You can run without missing a beat, even on a terrible configuration.
