Other than resizing images to a specific size, you may want to use it for retouching objects that are visible in the image. It is possible to change the objects into layers to work upon. You can roughly divide your picture into items like trees, weeds, water, land, and sky. You can split the picture into numerous layers and use them separately. The layers can then be closed or hidden or merged again. By this way, you can reuse them and edit them repeatedly.
